PART 10 : April 2008

I received the official SSA decision that I (supposedly) agreed to on May 30, 2008. (The actual letter detailing the decision will soon be posted here). There is no hint of a monetary settlement, and it contradicts much of what I have been saying for the last few years. There is so much that is incorrect about this decision that I'm not even sure where to begin. I could dissect it line by line, but that would take forever. I'll just say that MOST of it is news to me. In summary, my lawyer (who I am paying and is supposed to be on my side) had me sign something that is completely wrong.

Here is [the letter to Mrs M., giving] my reaction to the decision:

"I received the decision by the judge on my disability case today, and it COMPLETELY supports my concerns with signing that form and agreeing to this. [You had me agree] to a document that is entirely untrue and that I would NEVER have signed if I had seen it. Some of the things stated in the decision I have plainly stated the exact opposite of for the duration of this awful process. That you told me to agree to this is disgusting.

I have not heard the monetary portion of this decision yet, but I hope that it is what you say it should be. And I hope that it comes in time for me to appeal this decision if I find it unsatisfactory. I guess that I have 60 days."
